THE RETURN-TO-DUTY PROCESS
How it works: your return-to-duty process.
Work directly with Brian through each stage below, including your evaluations, individual recommendations, required SAP documentation, follow-up testing plan, and applicable FMCSA Clearinghouse updates. Recommendations are determined after your evaluation.
Initial SAP Evaluation
Complete your professional evaluation and discuss the circumstances surrounding the violation. Brian determines your individual education and/or treatment recommendations. For FMCSA drivers, Brian records the initial SAP assessment date in the Clearinghouse.
Complete Recommendations
Complete the education and/or treatment recommended by the SAP based on the evaluation.
Follow-Up Evaluation
After completing the recommendations, return for the final SAP evaluation. When Brian determines you have successfully complied and are eligible for return-to-duty testing, he records that eligibility date in the Clearinghouse and provides the required SAP documentation.
Return-to-Duty Test
Once eligible, your employer or designated C/TPA coordinates the return-to-duty test and reports the negative result in the Clearinghouse. Brian’s eligibility update does not replace this test.
Follow-Up Testing
Brian establishes the required follow-up testing plan and provides it to the appropriate employer or designated party as part of your SAP documentation.

Optional Clearinghouse Navigation Help
$40 / hourFor drivers who need help navigating the remaining steps after their final evaluation. Most drivers do not need this extra help. It is optional and not a required part of the return-to-duty process. Required SAP Clearinghouse updates are included with your SAP evaluations.
Any required education, treatment, or testing may involve separate provider costs. Your recommendations are based on your evaluation.

How to request Brian as your SAP.
Before your initial evaluation, complete this separate setup task in your FMCSA Clearinghouse account. These instructions explain how to request Brian; the return-to-duty stages are listed above.
A. Sign in at the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
B. Go to your violation / Return-to-Duty information and choose the option to designate a Substance Abuse Professional.
C. Search for Brian Golden.
D. Select Brian Golden and submit the request.
E. After the request has been sent, call 731-229-9175 to schedule your appointment.
